1) One of the Florida Standards that includes technology is the Computer Science Standard 6.CT.1.1. This standard is about using digital tools to solve problems and share ideas. It encourages students to use technology to find information, create solutions, and show their work clearly. I feel ready to teach this standard because I know how to use different digital tools, but I want to learn more to feel completely confident.
2) In the Educator Toolkit, I found resources for 5th grade science. One helpful lesson plan includes hands-on activities that let students experiment with different materials. I think these resources will improve my teaching by providing clear activities that engage students and cater to different learning styles, creating a more interactive classroom.
3) Being a skilled Internet searcher is important for teachers because it allows them to quickly find reliable information for their lessons. This week, I learned about using keywords and filters, which will help me get more relevant results in the future. I also often use bookmarks to save useful websites for easy access later, a skill we didn’t cover this week. These techniques will help me gather better resources for my students.
4) I think using artificial intelligence in K-12 education can be beneficial. It can help personalize learning for students and reduce teachers' administrative burdens. However, we must ensure that AI is used fairly and respects student privacy. Overall, AI has the potential to enhance education while supporting teachers and students.
